Welcome!

2018 Chris HeadshotI am an Assistant Instructional Professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy where I teach econometrics and data science classes in both the traditional MPP/MA and Evening Master’s programs.  My research interests are in applied microeconomics, primarily the fields of public, urban, environmental, and labor economics.  I also have work related to health and sports economics topics.

After majoring in economics and English at Clemson University, I started my career as a research associate doing antitrust analysis for an economic consulting firm in Washington, DC.  I then earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Virginia.  Prior to working at Harris Public Policy, I was an Assistant Professor at Florida State University and a Senior Research Associate in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at UChicago.  I live in Hyde Park with my wife, Susan; our sons; and our dog, Boomer.
